NEW! Designer Handbag & shoe trail - add some retail therapy to your holiday! What we think... This new family home is the ‘real deal’ when it comes to home from home comfort. Available only for a short period of the summer, this house has been built, equipped and furnished with families in mind. The quality and attention to detail is evident throughout providing you with a comfortable and interesting holiday home. This is a fabulous base from which to explore the medieval hilltop villages and undulating countryside of Le Marche. Inside This home is spacious, clean, practical and features interesting design touches; in fact it is a stunning place to spend your holiday. The large entrance hall leads into a beautifully designed, open plan sitting room/kitchen and dining area. The kitchen is fully decked out for keen cooks whilst positioned to help you keep a watchful eye over the children in the sitting room. The kitchen is equipped with two ovens, a microwave, dishwasher and 5 ring stove. There is also a large fridge/freezer and plenty of ‘kit’ to provide even the most lavish of meals! The living room has two large sofas with fabulous views over the garden and countryside beyond. There is also a play room at the end of this room which contains plenty to keep your kiddies occupied as well as a TV, DVD and a squishy sofa. This room leads out onto the outdoor play area where there is a trampoline and swing. Glass doors lead out onto from the living room onto the covered loggia (or terraced area) which enjoys fabulous views over the hills beyond. In the summer the distinction between inside and out becomes blurred as the glass doors are kept open. Upstairs there are 5 bedrooms – 3 doubles, 1 twin and a triple – all of which provide views over the dramatic countryside outside. On the first floor there are two large double bedrooms and one twin with two large, brand new bathrooms. There are also two further bedrooms on the top floor: 1 large double with a balcony and another large bedroom which has a set of bunks and a single bed as well as a bathroom. This layout is super for two families holidaying together as it gives each family plenty of private space as well as separate bathrooms. The bathroom on this level has a designer touch and has been beautifully designed to include double basin, shower and bath. Outside The garden has been beautifully designed by a professional garden designer to ensure that it is the perfect space for families. The garden is fully enclosed and has a fabulous olive lined path leading from the terrace to the pool. The enclosed 12m by 5m pool again has fabulous views of the countryside beyond as well as a large terrace which is furnished with sun beds and designed to enjoy a mixture of shade and sun. The covered terrace is a cool and restful place to enjoy the quieter moments of the day or to eat al fresco. Alternatively this is a great vantage point from which to watch the children run around in the garden, burning off their energy! The pool, trampoline and swings will also help to ensure that your children have a memorable and happy holiday. Baby and Toddler friendly! • Cots • Highchairs • Bed guards • Potties • Steriliser • Baby monitor • Plastic cutlery • Plastic steps • Pram • Changing mat • Stairgate • Non slip bath mat • Children’s toys • Bath toys And Beyond… The local hilltop villages that surround this fantastic proeprty are Sant Angelo in Pontano, Falerone and Penna San Giovanni and are each approximately 10 minutes in the car. The restaurant Pippo e Gabriella in Sant Angelo is particularly family friendly and serves wonderful pasta! Bar ‘Terrazza Belvedere’ in Penna San Giovanni has a great terrace overlooking the outdoor children’s play area and provides a wonderful spot to relax on a summer’s evening. In the local villages you can find restaurants, pizzerias, bars, coffee shops, butchers, bakers, supermarkets, pharmacies and banks so although you feel far away from another soul you are always close for the things that you will inevitably need during your stay. Beach and Mountain fun! This corner of Italy provides an excellent balance of mountains and beach activities. The Adriatic coastline is about 30 minutes away and provides extremely well managed beaches which are ideal for families. The beaches are organised into private sections, much like you would expect to find on the Cote d’Azure in France. This means that sunbeds, showers, toys, cafes and restaurants are all provided. There are also enclosed play areas for the children which are within view of the restaurants – bliss! Happy children and happy adults! The beaches can be busy but with your holiday hideaway less than an hour away you can quickly retreat back into the mountains! The Siblini Mountains, within view of the property offer a range of activities from light walks, serious hikes, hang-gliding, quad biking and kayaking to skiing or sledding in the winter months. The skiing at Sassotetto is an ideal and inexpensive ‘taster’ for small children to ‘have a go’. The nursery slopes here have a moving walkway for children to get to the top of the slope and to sled or ski down. Ski hire and passes for a half a day in the mountains are easy to organise and inexpensive. A trip to Italy would be incomplete without a thorough exploration of the local food and wine! And this area is a great place to sample true Italian cooking. In fact it is common not to have a menu at all but to choose from what is being freshly cooked that day. The area is famous for verdicchio wine, hams, salami and truffles. Details of the many restaurants in the area are listed in the House Information book. Through the eyes of a child, Italy is a great place to take children. Apart from the sheer enjoyment and excitement of being in a new place with new sights and sounds, the Italians love kids and welcome them with exuberance into restaurants, bars and cafes. There are parks in most of the villages and even the small supermarkets in the area are reasonably stocked with a choice of nappies, wet wipes and jars of baby food (watch out for the salt content though!). (PS. Do try an Italian version of a hot chocolate…!) So, in answer to the children’s cries of ‘what are we doing today Mum?’ you will have no end of things to suggest: dips in the pool, trips to the beach, walks in the mountains, out for lunch….? What will it be? Designer Shoe and Handbag Trail Mums in need of a bit of retail therapy on their holidays will love the new Designer Shoe & Handbag Tours in the Marche region of Italy. The area is home to some of the top shoe and handbag manufacturers like Prada and Tod’s, with many outlet stores offering designer items for a fraction of the regular price.
