Other information - Pool toys are available. The pool is also heated. The casa also includes an enclosed terrace: there is a gate on the large terrace which means that little ones can safely play on the terrace whilst parents eat or prepare food in the kitchens. Depending on the time of day one half of the terrace is generally always in the shade. The shop at Migliano is a walkable distance away; you can order fresh milk for Monday or Thursday and fresh bread daily from here. There is also a post office in Migliano. The train station at the bottom of the hill can be used to get to Lucca, Pisa and Florence. The property is accessible from a good road that is regularly gritted in winter and kept clear of foliage in summer. Castelnuovo in Garfagnana is only 10 minutes drive away (small supermarkets/clothes shops/English newspapers/weekly market/own theatre/large tourist information office etc ), and a good supermarket is only 20 minutes drive away. You can reach the beaches in about 1hr 15mins, or the ski slopes (with sledging) also in 1 hr 15 mins. Owing to the expense of the heating, in low season (or mid season if requested), a £500 heating deposit will be taken for the first week of your stay, and then £250 for any subsequent weeks, and the actual cost of heating used will be deducted.
